Outlets in Santiago, Chile: The 2026 Guide
Last verified: October 30, 2026. Every item below matches the numbered source on that date, unless the source shows another date. Stores, hours and fares change: look at the official website before you go.
First, about the currency: in Chile, the $ sign means Chilean peso (CLP), not U.S. dollar. All $ amounts in this guide are in pesos [14][17].
1. Overview
| Outlet or mall | Location | Getting there without a car | Tax |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arauco Premium Outlet Buenaventura | Quilicura, Santiago Metropolitan Region [1] | No official route published (see section 2.5) | 19% VAT, no tourist refund in Santiago [18][19] |
| Easton Outlet Mall | Quilicura, at the San Ignacio exit of Ruta 5 Norte [8] | No official route published (see section 2.5) | 19% VAT [18] |
| Cenco Costanera (formerly Costanera Center) | Providencia [10] | Metro (see section 2.5) | 19% VAT [18] |
| Parque Arauco | Las Condes [11] | Not covered in this guide | 19% VAT [18] |
- Both outlets in this guide are in the same comuna (district), Quilicura [1][8].
- Cenco Costanera and Parque Arauco are not outlets: they are included as reference malls, for anyone who wants to compare full prices or shop on the same trip.
2. The outlets
2.1 Arauco Premium Outlet Buenaventura (Quilicura)
- Owner: it belongs to the Arauco Premium Outlet network, which has four locations in Chile: Quilicura (Santiago), Coquimbo, San Pedro de la Paz and Curauma, the last one in the Valparaíso region, outside Santiago [5]. The network's website runs on the Parque Arauco group's platform [5]. ⚠️ Unverified / check before you go: we have not confirmed, in an official Parque Arauco group document, the company's current stake in the outlet.
- Address: San Ignacio 500, Quilicura, Región Metropolitana [1]. Phone 600 500 0011 [2].
- Hours: every day, 10:00–20:00 (as of 30/10/2026). The outlet notes that hours may vary by store [1][31].
- Holidays: under the outlet's rule, a holiday that falls on a Friday or Saturday follows regular hours; on other days, Sunday hours apply [1][31]. On the holidays when Chilean law requires stores to close, the outlet's rule does not apply (see section 2.4).
- Services: lockers, ATMs, free Wi-Fi, electric-vehicle chargers and accessible parking spaces [4]. The outlet does not publish the locker price.
- Stores (sample from the official directory): the A–Z directory has 114 entries (as of 30/10/2026), including Adidas, Nike, Lacoste, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Hugo Boss, Guess, Levi's, Under Armour, Patagonia, Swarovski and Carolina Herrera [3]. The count also includes places to eat and services, such as a currency exchange and lockers [3].
- Tax: 19% VAT [18].
2.2 Easton Outlet Mall (Quilicura)
- Owner: the website presents itself as Easton Outlet Mall but does not name the owning company [6].
- Address: the outlet only gives "Salida San Ignacio, Ruta 5 Norte" [8]. Phone +56 2 2733 5550; email contacto@eastonmall.cl [8].
- Hours: Monday to Sunday, 10:00–20:00 [6][8].
- Parking: free [6].
- Stores (sample from the official directory): Adidas Outlet, Calvin Klein, Crocs, GAP, Guess, Lacoste, Levi's, New Balance, Nike, Puma, Skechers and Tommy Hilfiger (as of 30/10/2026) [7].
- Holidays: the outlet does not publish special holiday hours. The mandatory closures in section 2.4 apply.
- Tax: 19% VAT [18].
2.3 Reference malls
- Cenco Costanera (Providencia): formerly Costanera Center, now under the Cenco Malls brand [9][10].
- Address: Avenida Andrés Bello 2425, Providencia, Santiago. Phone +56 2 2916 9226. Entrances on Av. Vitacura, Av. Andrés Bello and Nueva Tobalaba [10].
- Store hours: Monday to Sunday, 10:00–21:00 (as of 30/10/2026) [9]. The anchor stores have their own hours: Falabella, Paris and Ripley open Monday to Saturday from 10:30 to 20:30, and Sundays and holidays from 11:00 to 20:00 [9]. The Sky Costanera observation deck is open every day, from 10:00 to 22:00 [9].
- Parque Arauco (Las Condes): Avenida Presidente Kennedy 5413, Las Condes, Santiago [11].
- Hours, according to the hours panel on the home page: Monday to Thursday, 10:00–20:30; Friday and Saturday, 10:00–21:00; Sunday, 11:00–20:30 (as of 30/10/2026) [11].
- The mall uses the same holiday rule as the Buenaventura outlet (Friday or Saturday: regular hours; other days: Sunday hours) and notes that hours may vary by store [11].
- Former VIVO outlets (Maipú and La Florida): VIVO SpA opened these outlets and says it sold them in 2021 [12]. ⚠️ Unverified / check before you go: we found no active official website for these outlets and could not confirm their current name, owner or hours. For that reason, they are not part of this guide.
2.4 Holidays: when stores must close by law
- In Chile, January 1, May 1, September 18 and 19, and December 25 are "non-waivable" holidays for retail workers: stores and malls close. Restaurants, cinemas, airport shops and on-duty pharmacies, among others, are exempt from the rule [22].
- Upcoming dates: Friday 25/12/2026, Friday January 1, 2027, Saturday May 1, 2027, Saturday 18/9/2027 and Sunday 19/9/2027 [22].
- Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve: at the end of 2025, the Dirección del Trabajo (Chile's labor authority) said retail workers' rest started at 20:00 on December 24 and at 20:00 on December 31 [23]. ⚠️ Unverified / check before you go: the guidance for 24/12/2026 (Thursday) and 31/12/2026 (Thursday) has not been published yet. Expect early closing on those dates and look again closer to the day.
2.5 Getting there
- Quilicura (Buenaventura and Easton): ⚠️ Unverified / check before you go: neither the outlets nor Red/Metro publish a public transit route to them. The Buenaventura home page shows no address or directions, and its "cómo llegar" page is down [31]; Easton only offers a route planner on its own website [6]. Plan the trip in a maps app before you leave; a taxi or ride-hailing app is the simplest option.
- Cenco Costanera: ⚠️ Unverified / check before you go: the nearest Metro station (Tobalaba) does not appear on the mall's official page, which only lists the entrances [10]. Look it up on the Metro map.
- From the airport (SCL) to the city: the airport's official website lists taxis, buses, car rental and minibuses as regulated transport, available 24 hours; buses are the cheapest option and connect the airport with Metro stations and bus terminals [15].
- TurBus Aeropuerto: from Terminal Alameda to the airport, every day, 5:30 to 23:35. From the airport to Terminal Pajaritos, 05:35 to 23:35; from the airport to Terminal Alameda, 06:00 to 22:45. Departures every 15–20 minutes on weekdays and less often on weekends and holidays. Fare: $2,100. Boarding is at the bus station of the Terminal Nacional (T1) [16].
- Centropuerto: connects the airport with República, Pajaritos, Terminal Sur and Maipú, with departures every 15 minutes. Fares, according to the company itself: $2,400 one way and $4,100 round trip (the return is valid for 90 days). The desk is at the airport bus terminal, opposite platform 24 [17].
3. Getting around Santiago: bus and Metro fares
- Integrated fare: one payment is valid for 120 minutes from the first tap, with up to two transfers between bus, Metro and Tren Nos, in the same direction and without repeating a bus route [13].
- Bus: $795 at any time [13].
- Metro, Monday to Friday: peak $895 (07:00–08:59 and 18:00–19:59); "valle" (off-peak) $815 (09:00–17:59 and 20:00–20:44); "bajo" (low) $735 (06:00–06:59 and 20:45–23:00). Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: $815 [13][14].
- Combinations: if you start on a bus and transfer to the Metro, you pay the difference: $20 off-peak and $100 at peak. If you start on the Metro in the low period and transfer to a bus, you pay $60 more [13].
- Metro hours: weekdays, 6:00–23:00; Saturday, 6:30–23:00; Sundays and holidays, 7:30–23:00 [14].
- How to pay: bip! card or a QR code generated in the Red app or the BancoEstado app [13]. The bip! card costs $1,550, with no credit on it; the minimum top-up at the ticket office is $750 [14].
4. Tax on purchases (Chile)
- Chile charges 19% VAT (IVA) on sales of goods and services [18].
- Tourist refunds: the official refund system, "Factura Turista", applies only at registered stores in the Arica y Parinacota region, in the far north of the country, and only for travelers leaving Chile through Chacalluta (border crossing or airport), the port of Arica or Chungará [19]. The deadline to request the refund is 90 days [20]. Purchases in Santiago, leaving through Santiago airport, get no VAT refund.
- Bill in Congress: the bill "Sobre reactivación del turismo y de fomento a la industria audiovisual" (Boletín 16.817-05) is going through the Senate; the last recorded step was on 22/07/2026, when the text went to the Finance Committee [21]. ⚠️ Unverified / check before you go: the Chilean press says this bill creates a VAT refund for foreign tourists, but we have not read the official text, and it is not law. For now, assume the VAT you pay in Santiago is not refunded.
5. News and updates
- 22/07/2026: the tourism recovery bill (Boletín 16.817-05) received a new report from the Senate Economy Committee and went to the Finance Committee. It is still going through Congress, with no expected effective date [21].
- 23/12/2025: the Dirección del Trabajo reminded that stores close on December 25 and January 1, with rest starting at 20:00 on the day before [23].
6. Taking it home (Brazil's Receita Federal allowance)
This section applies only to travelers who live in Brazil. If you live in another country, look up your own country's customs rules before you travel. Duty-free allowance: arriving in Brazil by air or sea, each traveler has an allowance of US$ 1,000 in goods, granted once every 30 days. The allowance is individual and non-transferable: you can't combine it with family members' allowances. Duty-free purchases made when leaving Brazil or abroad may count toward this allowance [24]. Duty-free on arrival: there is an additional allowance of US$ 1,000 for purchases at the duty-free shop of the first airport of arrival in Brazil [24]. Over the allowance? Anything above it pays 50% import duty. Declare it through e-DBV and go through the "Bens a Declarar" (goods to declare) channel. Anyone who goes through "Nada a Declarar" (nothing to declare) with goods that should have been declared is fined 50% of the amount over the allowance [25]. Quantity limits: for goods over US$ 10, the limit is up to 20 units, with no more than 03 identical items; for goods under US$ 10, up to 20 units, with no more than 10 identical items [24]. For information only; it does not replace the Receita Federal's Guia do Viajante. Look up the current rules before you travel.
7. Paying: IOF and exchange rates (cards issued in Brazil)
- This section applies only to travelers who live in Brazil and use cards issued in Brazil. If you live in another country, look up your own bank's fees and rules.
- IOF of 3.5% on purchases abroad with an international credit, debit or prepaid card. The rule is art. 15-B, item VII, of Decreto 6.306/2007, as worded by Decreto 12.499/2025 [26][27].
- Legal status: in the consolidated text, this item carries the notes "Vide Decreto Legislativo nº 176, de 2025" and "Vide ADC nº 96" [27]. The STF (Brazil's Supreme Court) reinstated Decreto 12.499 in a preliminary ruling on 16/07/2025 [28]. ⚠️ Unverified / check before you go: the rates may change by decree or by an STF decision. Look again before your trip.
- Statement exchange rate: the conversion into reais must use the rate of the purchase date. The bank may only use the rate of the payment date if you expressly agree to it [29]. For each purchase, the statement must show the amount in foreign currency, the amount in U.S. dollars, the conversion rate and the amount in reais [30].
8. Official rewards programs
- On the outlets' official websites, we found no rewards program for tourists with published rules. The Arauco Premium Outlet network's website mentions a "Traveller" card, requested at the Parque Arauco customer service desk [5]. ⚠️ Unverified / check before you go: we found neither the card's conditions nor whether it is valid at the outlet. Ask at the customer service desk. We don't publish coupons or discounts.
